The storage and preparation of breast milk is quite simple but there are some important guidelines to follow before you begin.
•Breast milk is best stored in glass or plastic bottles with tight fitting lids to reduce the risk of contamination.
•However, Storage bags can be used if storing milk in the freezer. All equipment used in the collection and storage of your breast milk should be properly cleaned and sterilized.
•Breast milk is best use up to 3-6 hours at room temperature, take note of the room temperature.•In the refrigerator for up to 3-7 days, take note of your refrigerator temperature.•In the refrigerator freezer for up to 1-3 months, take note of your freezer temperature, best stored at the back of freezer.
•In a deep freezer for 3-6 months unless you have one at home
