WHO - Fully Breastfed Baby

The World Health Organization (WHO) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) emphasize the value of breastfeeding for mothers as well as children.

Both recommend exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life and then supplemented breastfeeding for at least one year and up to two years or more.

Connie's baby now is 6 months, fully breastfed. Together with her is the proudly grandmother.

Benefits for the infant
1 - Greater immune health
2 - Fewer infections
3 - Protection from SIDS
4 - Higher intelligence
5 - Less diabetes
6 - Less childhood obesity
7 - Less tendency to develop allergic diseases (atopy)
8 - Less necrotizing enterocolitis in premature infants
9 - Other long term health effects
