Just 2 weeks before I deliver my baby boy, I called her up for an appointment. We covered all the aspects of breastfeeding journey. We also discussed about the type of breastpump which suitable for me. At least, I select spectra 3. She even ask me to try out first before buying ...
4 days after delivery, I tried out the spectra 3 but it was painful on nipple. It was to our surprise that Su Li did not enforce us to buy any items at all. Thus, it gaves us very good impresssion to Baby Paradise. I really sense that they are not focusing on selling but all the way out to help mothers on breastfeeding. I just continued to direct feed and use hand express technique share by Su Li.

My baby was G6PD Deficiency sufferer, therefore his jaundice is slightly serious than others. I was truly up sad with the news. Furthermore, Doctor did not allow my son to discharge due to he did not pass any urine. After passing the news to my husband, he told me not to go for full breastfeeding. We started with some formula and next day he was able to discharge. Thanks God.

Formula on day time while taking the Chinese medicine. Afternoon or evening I direct feed him. With that said, my son jaundice lasted for one month. I started full breastfeeding on second month. I feel so proud by telling my son " Are you missing mama milk ?". He replied with a sweet smile.
My son weight is growing very well from 3.645kg to 5.1kg which my family started to accept full breastfeeding. See the pictures, his face looks so round and double chin.

Again, I need a breast pump before going back to work. I went back to Baby Paradise and tried out the manual pump. I did not like the manual pump at all. Su Li was patient and offered me to try out spectra 3 again. I did and the results was so good. No pain on nipple and manage to get 4-5oz milk. Yeah, finally i brought the pump for myself without any doubt.
To Breastfeed and to work at the same time is tought but I will never give up the BEST for my son. Perseverance !!

"牛奶是给牛喝的；人应该喝人奶" please revise this statement. If u think is true, please don't buy any formula milk and don't stop breastfeeding even your baby is more than 4 or 5 year old.

If you have problem in understanding Mandarin or English, please don't make fool of yourself and make such a silly and unrespectful comments above. I guess you must have not tasted a single drop of breast milk before, that's why you sounded so imbalance. "should 应该" and "must only" have totally different meanings! The statement "牛奶是给牛喝的；人应该喝人奶" doesn't say human "must only" drink breast milk! HELLO!!! If you're a parent, I'll feel very SAD for your children.

Anyway, I'm still stay strong to my statement.
FYI, For those baby up to 6 months, they will start having their teeth. Which mean he/she are ready to take other soft food like porridge besides breast milk.
Baby will slowly reducing milk taking when he/she growing. Because the enzyme to decompose milk will reduce along the growing.
Breast size does not affect milk supply. I have small breasts but I can produce 8oz per pump session. Protein from cow's milk is harder to digest for human babies. That's why mom's milk is best (easy to digest and absorb, complete with antibodies, perfect temperature, sterile-for direct breastfeeding), becoz it's what nature intended it to happen.
ReplyDeleteTo Li Lee: Keep up the good work! :) I wished I could breastfeed direct but baby wouldn't latched. So I pumped exclusively till he was 9 months old, no formula milk at all, even when I'm back at work after the 2nd month. You can do it too! I got a lot of pressure earlier on to feed formula milk but I'm glad I managed to stay firm on my decision. Am now expecting baby no.2, so hope can be more successful in direct breastfeeding. :)

I'm back to work now. I'm glad that i'm still go for fully breast feeding.
I want to thanks to my husband, my family, my baby sitter, my friends, my company, my manager, my colleagues..
With their understanding, i'm still able to express milk every 3hrs or 3.5hrs.
Now my milk quantity has increased to 6oz.
Too bad my son do not want any freezer milk..
So, i donated my freezer milk to another baby.
No waste and able to help the baby weight gain :)

ReplyDeleteI am so sad and angry when i read the Teh Sxxx Gxxx's comment on human breastmilk. She is tottaly misunderstanding on the benefit of breakmilk. Before you comment, PLEASE go and find why the current mom goes back to feed their baby breastmilk but not formula cow or goat milk. Here i can share something, the reason of formula milk established is for those mom that unable to direct feed to the baby. And nowaday the advertisment only promote how good the formula milk to the infant. See the statement on the formula milk, " Breaskmilk is the best food for infant below 6 months". Proved that even the formula milk producer also could not denied the benefit of the human milk. Why FORMULA milk not NATURALL milk, have everybody think before? It is because no matter how many good stuff they add in the cow milk, the formulatedmilk still could not compete with the human milk. Human milk contain 1000+ nutriens which is not yet verify by the human. Why Lui Li said human SHOULD drink human milk not MUST ONLY? Breastmilk not only the choice of food for infant, they can accept the REPLACEMENT if the human milk is not available. Every parent will give the best thing to their children no matter how expensive, you also think like that, right? When your searching the formula milk, you will choose the best one. Normally better formula higher price. And keep in mind, not every brand of formula are suite all individual infant. You can read others mom's blog that some of them keep changing the formula milk brand to TEST and ERROR which one is suitable for their child because of the effect of cow milk like constipation. Due to the undigested contain of cow milk and also the rich additive in the formula make the infant uncomfortable. To avoid this kind of problem, why not HUMAN MILK? HUMAN MILK is the first gift and protection on the first day of they came to this world.

Baby is not a machine, they can't effort to TEST and ERROR. Their immune system is weak for 1st 6 months. With breast feeding, baby can get antibody from mother in 1st 6 months. This is FREE!
Thanks Lui Li, i have same pressure from my MIL. It was the hard time for me even after i start working, the only solution is just enrich myself about the breastmilk's information and isolate any negetive comment. This is not the money matter, is the need of our child.
