UNICEF Philippines Breastfeeding

Who says busy working women cannot breastfeed their children? These soldier mothers show that it can be done. Breastfeeding expert Velvet Escario-Roxas of Arugaan lauds breastfeeding military mothers and wives of military service men: “Working women can breastfeed. The mothers in uniform in the AFP are concrete examples that with the right support and information, breastfeeding and working is not an impossible feat. It is the mother's right to work and worker's right to motherhood. And breastfeeding is one part of motherhood. [The Philippines is] one of the few countries having a law on breastfeeding at the workplace (RA 10028) in support for working women, motherhood and breastfeeding.”
