Event @ Fumakilla Prai
It was a sunny morning on Wedneday 8th April, Baby Paradise in a team of 4 persons went to Fumakilla Plant @ 9.30am for set up. 4 of us inclusive of Sallie, Yam, Suli & myself, special thanks to Sallie from Biogreen, Yam from NUK for their assistance. We were having organic food setup @ the canteen while breastfeeding talk being held @ the 1st floor of the conference room with some breastfeeding items being displayed.
With a population of just over 300 staffs, we were surprised to received such warm welcome & great participation from the employees. We received help from the staffs on the set up of the booths both in the canteen & as well as in the conference room.
Suli held 2 separate sessions with the mothers & employees on breastfeeding talk. First session was from 11am - 12noon & 2nd session were from 1pm to 2pm. Both were interactive sessions with Suli posting breastfeeding questions to the employees/mothers/pregnant mothers and follow by a little discussion along the way.
The Breastfeeding Talk were divided into 3 main topics, firstly the breastfeeding benefits for baby follow by the goodness of breastfeeding for mommy & thirdly how breastfeeding can bring benefits to the environment as well as the community. Along the way Suli also covered some of the breastfeeding myth such as 'breastfeeding will make ones breast sag', 'a breastfeeding baby needs extra water in hot weather', 'you cannot breastfeed if you plan to go back to work' and many more.
The whole sessions receive good feedback from the employees and most were happy with the knowledge they gained from the breastfeeding talk. We sincerely hope that the staffs will share & indirectly will create awareness among their families and friends too. Pictures will be posted up soon! Stay tuned :-)
